In 2020, the Internal Revenue Service recognized over 1.7 million 501(c)(3) nonprofits. At the heart of all of these organizations are people who are passionate about issues concerning their communities, their neighbors, and the world around them.
However, figuring out how you can best support a cause you care about is not always simple. Not everyone is in a position to financially contribute. The nonprofit you want to support may not need more helping hands. Or, the organization may prefer volunteers with specific skills or experience. It is easy to get discouraged.
We view VolunTeach as a bridge between nonprofit organizations and people who care.
As a collective of students starting VolunTeach, we go forward with the following core belief in mind: if you have the will to do good, you can do good. It’s just a matter of how.
We hope VolunTeach will empower individuals to support causes they care about with the tools they already have: the skills they possess, the knowledge they hold, the passion they share.
